# Is your wall ready for a mural? A pre-installation checklist

“The renovation is nearly finished” does not describe wall readiness. Before installation, check specific points: substrate condition, completion of wet work, final dimensions and access to the wall.

## Inspect the wall in side light

Look for remaining raised areas, cracks or filler transitions. Take an overall photo and close-ups of uncertain areas. Photographs help the discussion but do not replace an on-site assessment when the substrate condition is unclear.

Add 5 cm to wall height and 5 cm to wall width for trimming. For example, a 300 × 250 cm wall needs 305 × 255 cm including allowance. Send the original measurements too; we will confirm the artwork before printing.

## Confirm cleaning and drying

Dust must be removed after sanding. Establish which primer was used and when application finished. Check the period in that product’s instructions. Tell the installer if any area was sanded again after priming: its preparation sequence needs another check.

## Update measurements after finishing

Compare the final width and height with the approved artwork. Show any changed openings, recesses, shelves or socket positions. Do not print from old measurements after the wall geometry has changed.

## Prepare the room for work

Provide convenient access to the wall and agree which objects to move. Send the installer the address, photographs, primer details and current dimensions. Confirm installation availability and sequence in advance, particularly while other finishing work continues.

## Check before ordering

- A level, clean and dry substrate
- Primer and treatment details recorded
- Dimensions and wall access confirmed

## Key takeaway

Wall readiness is a verified condition, not just a tick beside “priming completed”.
